Tyson Gregory Carter was born on January 14, 1998 in Starkville (Mississippi, USA). He played basketball at Starkville High School, was named the state Player of the Year in his senior year and participated in the Mississippi and Alabama All-Star Game. From 2016 to 2020 . Carter played for the University of Mississippi. In his senior year, Tyson started in 16 out of 31 games and became the best reserve player in the Southeastern Conference (for the first time in the history of the university). In 2020, he signed a contract with the Greek "Lavrio". In his first season in Greece, the defender averaged 13.8 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.7 assists in 33 matches and helped the team reach the Greek Championship finals for the first time and earn a ticket to the Basketball Champions League. After six matches in the Champions League this season, Tyson Carter is the fourth most productive player in the entire tournament and the most productive in his team – 17.8 points on average per match. The American scored a career-high 35 points on November 2, 2021 in a victorious match against Nizhny Novgorod. He signed a contract with the American defender until the end of the 22/23 season with an option to extend it until the end of the 2024-25 season. He spent the 2022/23 season on loan at the Spanish Unicaja.
