Zenit — 2022/23
The first season without European competitions for Zenit and all Russian clubs proved to be a mixed one. Our team started the year well, but by January-February, a rebuilding phase was underway, with three new foreign players joining the team and a significant number of injuries occurring. The regular season saw Zenit finish in third place, and in the playoffs, we defeated MBA with a score of 3-1 in the first round. Unfortunately, in the semifinals, our team lost in the final moments of the seventh game, allowing UNICS to advance (3-4), who eventually won the championship. Zenit finished fourth in the series for third place after failing to defeat CSKA. In the Russian Cup, our team reached the final but was defeated by Nizhny Novgorod, securing only the silver medals in the national cup. However, Zenit did not go without any titles as before the season even began, in the preseason, we claimed the Kondrashin and Belov Cup, as well as the VTB United League Supercup.
