Sergey Toropov

Sergey Toropov was born in the city of Gorky (now Nizhny Novgorod) and began playing basketball at the local school. At the age of 17, he moved to Saratov and joined the Avtodor system, where he spent a whole eight years with a one-year stint in Severstal on loan.

Together with Avtodor, Toropov won the Superleague-1 twice, and in 2014, he joined Temp-SUMZ. After that, Sergey changed clubs almost every year - he went from Temp to Samara, MBA, Pari NN, Spartak-Primorye... Until he finally found himself in his hometown of Nizhny Novgorod. Under the guidance of Zoran Lukic, Toropov improved in all aspects, solidified his place in the Pari NN, received a call-up to the Russian national team, and made his debut at the VTB United League All-Star Game.

Such progress logically led the forward to a promotion, and in the summer of 2022, he found himself in Zenit. With our team, he became a two-time winner of the VTB United League Supercup and the Kondrashin and Belov Cup, the winner of the Russian Cup, as well as the owner of the bronze medals of the United League.
