Anton Pushkov was born in Surgut but moved with his family to the Volgograd region at a young age. He started playing professional basketball by chance when he was noticed during exhibition performances at Volzhanin-GES. He spent 4 years in Volzhskiy, then moved to Khimki, followed by Krasnye Krylia, and eventually joined Zenit.
