Zenit loses the first game against CSKA

After defeating Uralmash, only a few days passed before Zenit found themselves battling against Moscow's CSKA in the semifinals of the United League. The series, slated to last until four victories, began in Saint Petersburg on our home court.

Unfortunately, throughout the entire game, it was noticeable that the opponents were fresher and had more time to prepare for this series. CSKA gained the advantage as early as the first quarter, relinquishing it only for a minute in the second before reclaiming the lead. By the third period, the visitors surged ahead by a double-digit margin, ultimately clinching the victory in the fourth – 82:67.
