Egor was born in St. Petersburg and started playing basketball under the guidance of coach Svetlana Knysh. The player went through the entire development system of Zenit, starting from the youth teams and progressing to the main squad.
In the 2021/22 season, Ryzhov played for Zenit-2 in the VTB Youth United League and for Zenit U19 in CYBL, achieving a "golden double" by winning both tournaments.
In the summer of 2022, the center signed a three-year contract with Zenit and spent the following season alternating between the main squad and Zenit-2, primarily competing in the Superleague. At the same time, Ryzhov received call-ups to both the senior men's national team of Russia and the U20 national team.
