Xavier Moon was born on January 2, 1995 in Goodwater, Alabama. He started playing basketball in the seventh grade and attended Central Coosa High School, where he became the best scorer in the state. Moon signed his first professional contract in 2017 with the ALM Évreux Basket team in France, but soon he returned to the United States to play for the Albany Patroons. He became the rookie of the year in the North American Basketball League.
In 2018, Moon moved to the London Lightning and later to the Edmonton Stingers in the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL), where he was named league MVP. In 2020, he became a champion again with Edmonton and the finals MVP. In the fall of 2021, Moon signed with the Agua Caliente Clippers and later made his NBA debut with the Los Angeles Clippers. In the 2023 World Cup qualifiers he played 2 games for the US national team.
In the summer of 2024, the guard joined Zenit.
