Sergey Migitsko: "Today's Zenit is one for all, and all for one"
People's Artist of Russia Sergey Migitsko, a Zenit fan and a frequent guest at home matches of the blue-whites, attended the meeting with Astana (96:59) and shared his opinion about the team's play this season. In addition, Sergey Grigorievich told what literary characters he associates with the current squad and promised to come to the game against UNICS with another famous St Petersburg citizen.
— Sergey Grigorievich, you rushed so fiercely under the ring, and we just had one center out. Could you play in this position, how do you think?
— You get into my passport and see how old Sergey Grigoryevich is. I think that in first second they will take me away from here (laughs).
— What is your aftertaste after the victory over CSKA? Could you compare the movement of these two teams by season now? Zenit and CSKA.
— Actually, I have something to say about this. I was at the match with CSKA for the first time this season. The schedule did not allow [to come earlier]. Of course, I watched TV, but, you know, TV sometimes does not give the true picture, the necessary expression. I came out after the match in a very good mood. I had a performance in two hours. I played the performance with very good energy, because the game was very good. Two very strong clubs were playing. Very! It was a very good basketball game. The fact that Zenit won by 4 points is the whole indicator for you.
But it's not that two very strong clubs were playing. It seems to me that Zenit is more interesting this season than in the past. I don't know if I have the right to think like that and say it out loud, but it seems to me that Zenit is stronger today. We need to take advantage of this, so to speak, position and win good-colored medals this season, to please our fans.
— This new Zenit that Pascual is making now, what kind of literary hero, character does it remind you of?
— I was already asked at the game with CSKA. I could hardly say anything significant, then I was in a great mood. But I really like Pascual. Of course, I've seen a lot of interesting coaches, but Pascual… And I'm happy that he stayed on this team, although I know there were different conversations. The first thing that comes to my mind is one for all, and all for one. You see, this is total basketball, not to let these zones be exposed, everything is here, everything is there.
— You said it yourself, one for all, and all for one. And our players dream of Mikhail Sergeyevich coming with you. Could you invite him to one of the upcoming matches?
— I'll bring him on the 18th.
— Will you bring Mikhail Sergeyevich Boyarsky to game against UNICS on December 18th?
— Prepare the table, he likes pies, keep in mind (laughs).
— We'll be ready. Sergey Grigorievich, who are you more worried about now: Zenit basketball or football, which went on a winter break in second place?
— Mark, the name Zenit is generally a special name for me. I've been rooting for these five letters for a long time. Of course, I worry about both of them.
— And who is more worried about, in the context of losing the title?
— I will not answer you very briefly, I will explain. It is more worrying for Zenit football, because at least [there are] three very strong clubs that claim the first place there. And we need some additional arguments and strength to take the gold there, on the football arena. And do you know why I'm worried about this Zenit? Because I would really like to win the gold medal with such a team and with such a coach. If they don't take it, then it will be even more disturbing for me (laughs).
