Dwayne Bacon:"We've got to keep sustaining this momentum"
Blue-whites forward Dwayne Bacon shared his impressions of home win over CSKA (82:78) in the 17th round of the VTB United League regular season. The player noted the fans' support and spoke about his emotions after 10 consecutive wins.
— Dwayne, we congratulate you on victory. CSKA's 11-game winning streak is broken. What do you feel?
— I feel good. We've had a week to prepare for the match with them. They're a good team you know they won a lot of championships. So it's always you know encouraging to come out and play the number one team in the league. We came out we fought hard they fought hard and it was very intense game but you know at the end we came out on top.
— You scored 20 points. You were on fire tonight and also played for almost 33 minutes. Аre you tired?
— No. I mean this is what you train for. We practice all week staying in when we when we're going when we're playing up and down. I try to stay in to keep my stamina as high as I can and I put in that work so no it's become routine now.
— There was not a very good moment that happened witр Vince Hunter. Do you know how does he feel?
— Hopefully he feels good. That's the guy we need for the season. We got a few days off before our next game, so hopefully we can get him back in the motion, see how bad it is, and go from there.
— Who mostly surprised you tonight, Aleksa Avramovic or Melo Trimble?
— They got a good team. Those guys got a pretty good team. They're all well-rounded, won last year. And to add a guy like Aleksa Avramovic, he's a well-known guy, he plays hard, know how to play the game. So, like I said, their team is pretty well-rounded, like they know how to play well, they look like and play like they've been playing together for years, so this is the kind of games you want to play in. You want to play against a team like that every night because it's going to bring the best out of you.
— We've got 10 back-to-back victories. Are you satisfied or not?
— Oh, no, no. You can never be satisfied. The goal is to be here in June, the last two teams standing, and to come out with a victory then. Right now we've got to keep sustaining this momentum, keep coming out and playing hard every single night, because we want to be here in June still playing for the championship.
— There was a full house tonight, and do you like the fans support?
— Oh, yeah, I love it. I love the fact that they came out, you know, it helped us. The sixth man is always big time in games like this, because they bring the energy, they bring the yelling and all that they try to mix up the other team. So I love it goes in.
