Alexander Shcherbenev: "The fans will be our sixth player"
— How has the preparation for the game against CSKA gone? How high is the pressure ahead of a match against the league leader?
— The preparation has gone excellently. We had a week to analyze our opponent, their strengths and weaknesses, which we did. Honestly, there's no particular pressure. We’ve played CSKA before, and this won’t be the last time either. We’ll do our best to win, especially at home with our fans.
— Did you focus on the previous game against CSKA? Did you work on your mistakes?
— Yes, we reviewed the previous game in Moscow. We identified what allowed them to gain the advantage, pinpointed our mistakes, and corrected them.
— Did you devote specific time to analyzing Avramovic and Trimble’s game during preparation?
— No, we didn’t analyze Avramovic and Trimble specifically. Our focus was on the entire team. We prepared for each player since they have a deep and versatile roster, and anyone can make an impact.
— There will be a sold out at the game, is that an added incentive for you?
— Of course! It’s great to know the game will be sold out, the first time this season. This is definitely extra motivation for us to play beautiful basketball and secure a win to please our fans. I’m confident they’ll push us forward and be our sixth player. We’ll do everything we can to make this game memorable for all the fans and will do our best to reward them with a victory. I hope we’ll have full arena more often here in St. Petersburg.
