Alex Poythress: "When the crowd is screaming, you want to show yourself as a player"
The St. Petersburg center Alex Poythress shared his expectations from the guest match with PARMA, which will take place tomorrow as part of the 15th round of the VTB United League regular season.
— We know that here in Perm, it's almost always a sold out, so there will be a very loud crowd. How to cope with that?
— It's going to be a good atmosphere. I mean, those are the type of games you want show yourself as a player when you've got sold out gyms and the opposite crowd is screaming. So, for me as a player, I like that and I enjoy those types of situations. But it will be tough. We've got to do a good job coming together as a team, relaying calls and trying to block out the noise.
— It is a very long trip: St. Petersburg-Moscow-Perm. How difficult is it to constantly adapt to new environments during this trip?
— I mean yeah it's difficult sometimes but we're professional players. There's always gonna be road trips and we have to understand that it comes with the job so we can't use that as excuse for anything. We got to come and do our job each and every day.
— What are your expectations of the upcoming game and their performance?
— Hopefully, we keep this winning streak going. We've been playing great lately, so let's
