Sergey Karasev: "The main goal is to try to win all three games before the break"
Zenit's captain, Sergey Karasev, shared his thoughts ahead of the 13th round of the VTB United League, which will take place tomorrow, November 10, in Saratov. The game against Avtodor is set to start at 15:00 Saint Petersburg time.
— They are a tough team, especially when playing at home, it's always challenging. This year, Avtodor has a fairly balanced roster. The home game (103:86 in the first round) showed that they are ready to compete for victory. They fought hard for almost 35 minutes. That's why we are heading to Saratov fully focused and determined, understanding that this will be far from an easy walk. We need to give not just 100%, but 110%, even 120%, to achieve our goal.
— How is the mood in the team after a series of consecutive victories?
— The mood is great. We are working hard, training and enjoying the process. There are some shortcomings and mistakes, but this is sports, this is basketball, so we keep working and pushing ourselves. The main goal for us is to try to win all three games before the break, take a bit of a breather, and then prepare for the next phase.
— Can we expect a high-scoring game in tomorrow's match?
— Every time I've played in Saratov, there have always been very high-scoring games because they generally promote a fast-paced, aggressive style of basketball. Teams that adapt to it always produce high-scoring games. We'll see, anything can happen, but the most important thing is to win.
