October 2, 2024
The Russian Basketball Federation has published the roster of the national cadet team for the training camp, which will be held from November 18 to 26 at GoPark in the Moscow region. Since June of this year the team has been led by Zenit U21 head coach Roman Knyazev.
Eighteen players have been invited to participate in the camp, including two graduates of St. Petersburg basketball schools — forwards Alexander Alekseev from sports school No. 1 of the Tsentralny district and Ivan Borokhov from the Vasileostrovsky district sports school. Knyazev's staff also includes the strength and conditioning coach of the youth team, Yaroslav Zarovnyatnykh.
Roman Knyazev, head coach of the Russian U16 national team:
The coaching staff has called up the basketball players who stood out last season. As we mentioned during the summer camp, all players marked as "promising" will have the opportunity to prove themselves. That’s why 18 athletes have been invited to GoPark this time, and we will evaluate their potential in November. This is done to give the boys a chance to prove that they deserve to be part of the Russian national team.
