Xavier Pascual: “We always try to play serious at the Kondrashin and Belov Cup”
— Xavier, Zenit was in the lead in the beginning and earned victory in the fourth quarter. But we saw an equal game in 2nd and 3rd quarters. Why?
— Well, every game is different. First of all, we are happy for the way we are going. But still we have to improve a lot. To be more efficient on both parts of the court. We started very well. After that we lost a little bit the control of the game, because we lost the organization. And in general in second half we played better in defence, a little bit better in offence. This is why we finally closed this game.
— There are few newcomers. Are they used to what you ask from them?
— It’s too early. We are using these games to improve. Next week there will be a Supercup. We try to run in order to get ready for this first important competition.
— What can you say about the organization of Kondrashin and Belov Cup? Everything was fine?
— Yes, I like it very much. Television and everything. It is my fourth consecutive Cup here. And it is always a pleasure to be here and to commemorate such an important moment in Russian basketball.
— You won fourth Cup in a row. Is it a special moment?
— I like this competition. I like the first contact with our fans. Obviously we always try to play serious this competition, because we like to win and because we are at home. And at home we try to win every game.
