Alexander Shcherbenev and Mikhail Dulkay — Winners of the Friendship Cup

Zenit players Alexander Shcherbenev and Mikhail Dulkay became winners of the international Friendship Cup as part of the Russian national team. The tournament concluded today in the city of Perm with a final game against PARMA, in which the national team, led by Zoran Lukic, secured a victory 87-80.


For our players, the cup started on August 21st with a match against the Venezuelan team (79-57) as part of the group stage. That game marked Mikhail Dulkay's debut for the national team. The 18-year-old forward from the Zenit Basketball Academy spent 12 minutes on the court, scoring 4 points, grabbing 3 rebounds, delivering 1 assist, and making 1 steal. First-team guard blue-white's team, Alexander Shcherbenev, recorded 7 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 steal.


On August 22nd, the Russian national team defeated the tournament hosts, PARMA, with a score of 84-76. Shcherbenev, in 10 minutes and 33 seconds of playing time, contributed 4 points by making a field goal and two free throws. Dulkay did not participate in the match.

The last game of the group stage was another test against the Venezuelan team on August 23rd. This time, Alexander missed the game. Mikhail, however, spent 12 minutes on the court, scoring 5 points by making two field goals, and adding 2 rebounds and 1 block. Our team confidently won with a score of 68-63.


In the final match against Perm, Shcherbenev spent 13 minutes on the court, scoring 6 points and making 1 rebound and 1 assist. Dulkay missed two field goal attempts.
