Adamantios Panagiotopoulos along with the Greek National Team qualified for the Olympic Games in Paris

The Greek National Team confidently defeated the Croatian NT in the final of the 2024 Olympic Qualifying tournament with a score of 80-69. Greece had not participated in the Olympic Games since 2008, so Vassilis Spanoulis's team was determined to break this streak of failures. As a result, the team did not lose a single match in the qualifiers, successively defeating the Dominican Republic (109-82), Egypt (93-71), Slovenia (96-68), and Croatia.

Adamantios Panagiotopoulos, an assistant of Xavi Pascual at our club, played an important role in the Greeks' success. Adamantios is an assistant to Spanoulis and has been working with the national team since the fall of 2023. Recall that Vassilis replaced Dimitris Itoudis, the former coach of CSKA, in this position.

In addition to Greece, Brazil, Spain, and Puerto Rico, which sensationally defeated Lithuania (79-68), also qualified for the Olympics. At the Olympics, Greece will compete in Group A alongside Spain, Australia, and Canada.

The basketball tournament at the 2024 Olympics will be held from July 27 to August 10. The reigning champion is the United States, which defeated France 87-82 in the final of the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.
