Xavi Pascual breaks another record for Zenit

Zenit head coach Xavi Pascual has overseen his 222nd game for our team, surpassing former coach Vasily Karasev in this regard. Now the Spaniard sits atop the list of coaches by the number of matches for the club; Karasev is in second place with 221 matches, and in third place is Joan Plaza, who led our team in 70 games.

In 222 games under Pascual's guidance, Zenit has secured 152 victories, also a record - with the closest pursuer being Vasily Karasev with 145 wins.

Today, the blue-whites beat Lokomotiv Kuban in the first match of the second stage of the United League.

Pascual is the most successful coach in the history of our team. Under his guidance, Zenit won the VTB United League for the first time, along with the Russian championship, in June 2022. In the 2020/21 season, the team reached the playoffs of the Euroleague for the first time, and in 2022, 2023 we became the winners of the VTB United League Supercup. In terms of medals, we have won two Kondrashin and Belov Cups (2021, 2022, 2023), silver in the Russian Cup 2022/23, and bronze in the VTB United League with an early first-place finish in the regular season of 2020/21.
