Andre Roberson: "We fought through a lot of adversity, but we found a way"
Zenit forward Andre Roberson shared his emotions after the final game of the season, in which the Blue-White-Sky Blues fell to Lokomotiv Kuban (76:84) in Game 5 of the VTB United League bronze-medal series.
— Extremely disappointing. The loss, but I'm proud of the guys. I'm proud of the coaching staff. I'm proud of the front office for sticking through it all. It's an extremely difficult season, and we fought through a lot of adversity, but we found a way. We gave ourselves a chance every night to go out there and win. We fell a little short last two series, but...
One positive I do take away from this is the relationships I gained along the way. Basketball, you know, it bounces either way. You know, 50-50, any given night, you go out there on the floor. They're a great team. Great team. Tipped my hat off to Loko and Unics who beat us last two series. But like I said, it's also why we play the game. You know, the relationships that we formed and the brotherhood that we created in that locker room, something that you take with long after you're done playing basketball. So that's something I'll cherish and remain focused on. So I fell a little short with basketball. Sometimes that's how the ball rolls, but we stuck together to the end.
