Luka Šamanič: "Hopefully, we can get a win and finish the job"

Zenit center Luka Šamanič shared his expectations ahead of Game 5 of the VTB United League semifinals against UNICS. The match will take place tomorrow, May 22, in Kazan at the Basket-Hall arena. Tip-off is at 19:30 St. Petersburg time.

— After this big support from the home crowd, are you ready to go away to Kazan?

— Yes, we had really good fans in the last game, and we're really excited to play tomorrow. Hopefully, we can get a win and finish the job.

— Can you share how you are mentally preparing for this crucial game right now?

— I mean, it's tough to play against the same team four or five times in the playoffs. Throughout the whole year, I think this is going to be the 11th time that we play them. We know them, they know us, and I think the most important thing is to be resilient and be tough.

— So, could you say something about your role during this playoff time and in this series?

— Just come in, play with energy, and try to match the physicality under the basket, because that's where they are the best. Reynolds and Bingham are both super good players. I think trying to contain them and manage the physicality — as I said — that's my biggest job right now.
