Johnny Juzang: "Everyone stayed fully focused"

In the away game against Samara (63:100), guard Johnny Juzang became the top scorer for the St. Petersburg side, recording 16 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal. The Blue-White-Sky Blues media team spoke with Johnny — exclusively for Zenit TV.

— Congratulations on the win. The team set the tone from the very first minutes. What allowed you to start the game so confidently?

— I think we came in focused, professional, and just try to bring the energy. Take care of business, so everybody was locked in, and God willing, we got out healthy too.

— In the second quarter, Zenit went on an 18:0 run that largely decided the outcome. In this run you added 11 points. What was the key during that stretch?

— Yeah I think we found the flow, we found the rhythm, moved the ball well as a team. My teammates found me as well. But yes, you know just strong it together and we start getting stops too. Xavier start getting some steals. So we just started putting stuff together, pick up the defensive intensity and found the rhythm offensively just moving the ball as a team I think.

— The team did a great job pushing in transition after steals. Was that one of the main focuses for this game?

— Yes, I think we were trying to get some transition buckets. Honestly I think we can even maybe look up the floor some more, but I think did a better job of that overall moving in that direction.

— What was the head coach telling you when the lead went over 30 points?

— Stay focused keep the approach that was important and… Yep, just keep the approach and stay locked in.

— All Zenit players scored their points tonight. Is that something the team really enjoys?

— Yes, everybody get the opportunity get some rhythm tonight and get some flow just come in take care of business. Great team effort — everybody came locked in.
