Xavier Moon: "It's just another basketball game that we looking to come out and get a victory"
Zenit guard Xavier Moon spoke about the team’s preparation for the Round 5 game of the WINLINE Basket Cup group stage against Uralmash. The matchup against the Yekaterinburg side will take place tomorrow, February 12, at the CSC Arena in St. Petersburg. Tip-off is scheduled for 20:00 local time. Tickets are available on the club’s website.
— Xavier, the game against Uralmash will be the last one of this home stand. This time there was a four-day break between matches. How did the preparation go?
— I think preparation has been great, obviously like you said getting ready for this last home game before we go on the road. We're really looking forward to it, had a lot of success these last couple games so hopefully we can come out with a win tomorrow.
— A victory over Uralmash will secure Zenit a spot in the WINLINE Basket Cup Final Four. Do you feel any extra pressure because of this fact or it's okay?
— Never, it's just another basketball game that we kind of looking to come out and get a victory. We treat it just like any other game.
— As you know, our assistant coach Rostislav Vergun was previously the head coach of Uralmash and knows the team well. Will that be an additional advantage for us?
— Absolutely. Like you said, he was their coach for a little minute, so he knows the guys. Gives us that little extra edge that we need, so we're really leaning on him a lot when it comes to personnel.
— What would you like to say to the St. Petersburg fans ahead of tomorrow’s game?
— Looking forward to seeing everybody at the game, man. The last couple of games have been really electric, so hopefully the same thing for tomorrow.
