Levi Randolph: "I'm very happy for Trent"
Blue-White-Sky Blues guard Levi Randolph shared his emotions after the home victory over Avtodor (105:79) in an interview with Zenit TV. In the game against the Saratov team, the American became Zenit’s top scorer, recording 21 points, 3 steals, 2 assists, and 1 rebound.
— Levi, congrats on the win. Zenit played with great energy tonight. Share, please, your emotions after victory.
— Excited! You know, the guys played great, everybody played together. We had fun playing today like we always say basketball is a game of runs but we were able to pull away late in the game.
— It's a completely different game that we had on January 14 and I suppose fans also noticed it and what have changed inside the team?
— It was just good energy. Everybody has good energy right now, everybody's trying to play hard and do whatever they can do to help the team win.
— It was the very first game for Trent being Zenit captain and are you happy for your teammate?
— I'm very happy for him. Me having experience being a captain before overseas, it's a big honour. So I understand how important it is to be able to lead a team and be a captain. You know, he's been here for a while so for him to be able to get that badge it means and I'm happy for him. I'm very excited that he gets the opportunity to be able to lead an organisation like this.
— So Zenit is between fourth and the fifth spots in the VTB League standings and what do we need to do to improve our situation?
— Continue to win. That's the biggest thing. I mean, that's the only way to move up is to win games. So that's our goal is to just win as many games as we can and put us put ourselves in good position going into the playoffs.
— So for next four home games is the right time to do it, right?
— Perfect time. It's right on time for us to be to get these wins at home. You want to protect home court. So it's great timing for us to be able to go on the run.
— So while you're playing at Zenit we noticed that you have a few three-point celebrations and which one is your favorite?
— I don't know how a few I can't think of one that's really my favorite but whatever comes to me it's kind of what I do my friends always make fun of me and say that I have terrible celebrations. Аnd at first they said I don't celebrate they told me I needed to celebrate more so I'm just having fun. I couldn't do it without my teammates, they're able to find me in open spots and I make the shot.
