Dmitry Uzinskiy: "We shouldn’t expect an easy walk"

January 26, 2026

Zenit forward Dmitry Uzinskiy told about the team’s preparation for the home match against Avtodor and invited St. Petersburg fans to support the team. The Round 24 game of the VTB United League regular season will take place tomorrow, January 27, on the court of the CSC Arena. Tip-off is at 19:30. Tickets are available on the club’s website.

— Dmitry, how did the preparation for the game against Avtodor go?

— We’ve just come through three away games, and we’re very happy to finally be playing at home. That gives us extra energy. We’ve missed our fans and want to thank them for their support and loyalty to the club. We analyzed the strengths of the team from Saratov, and there definitely won’t be an easy walk, because our opponent is skilled and had time to prepare.

— What makes Avtodor strong?

— Their team play and coaching staff. It’s a serious opponent that, based on their play, could be higher in the standings. Avtodor is a high-quality team in every sense.

— The road trip is over and a home stretch is ahead. What’s the team’s mood like?

— You know that certain changes have taken place, including in the coaching staff. We’re full of determination and enthusiasm; we need to turn things around and win. Right now, we’re all standing up for each other. The coach is with us, and we’re with the coach and the management. We understand that we can look better on the court, and we will definitely become stronger. Our biggest victories are still ahead.

I’d like to address the fans: please come to the upcoming games — starting with tomorrow’s. Together with you, we can achieve results.
