Zenit center Alex Poythress will miss the rest of the 2025/26 season after sustaining an injury on October 29 in the home game against BETCITY PARMA.
Medical examination revealed a torn ACL in the 32-year-old American’s knee, ruling him out for the remainder of the campaign.
Poythress ranks sixth all-time in appearances for Zenit with 181 games, the most among all foreign players in club history.
In the current VTB United League season, Alex averaged 14.3 points, 7 rebounds, 0.9 assists, 0.7 blocks, and 0.4 steals in 7 games over 20 minutes per game. In the WINLINE Basket Cup, he recorded 5 points, 6 rebounds, and 1 assist in one appearance.
Zenit Basketball Club stands with Alex and wishes him a full and speedy recovery.
