Andre Roberson is a Zenit player!
Andre Roberson was born on December 4, 1991, in Las Cruces, New Mexico (USA). After graduating from high school, he enrolled at the University of Colorado in Boulder, where he played for the Colorado Buffaloes for three years in the NCAA, demonstrating some of the best rebounding stats in the tournament.
Roberson was selected with the 26th overall pick in the 2013 NBA draft by the Minnesota Timberwolves, but was later acquired by the Oklahoma City Thunder on draft night. On July 12, he signed a contract following a strong performance in the Summer League. In his rookie season, he also played for the Thunder’s G-League affiliate, averaging 15.9 points, 9.6 rebounds, 2.5 steals, 1.6 assists, and 1.3 blocks. Roberson spent seven years with Oklahoma, appearing in a total of 328 NBA games and reaching the playoff semifinals in 2016. His season-by-season stats are as follows:
2013/2014: 42 games — 1.6 points, 2.3 rebounds;
2014/2015: 67 games — 3.4 points, 3.8 rebounds, 1.0 assist;
2015/2016: 88 games — 5.0 points, 4.0 rebounds;
2016/2017: 84 games — 6.9 points, 5.1 rebounds, 1.3 steals, 1.2 blocks, 1.0 assist;
2017/2018: 39 games — 5.0 points, 4.7 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 1.2 steals;
2019/2020: 8 games — 2.5 points, 3.4 rebounds.
After missing eight games in January 2018 with left patellar tendinitis, he ruptured his left patellar tendon on January 27 against the Detroit Pistons. Roberson underwent surgery the following day and was subsequently ruled out for the rest of the season. Due to complications and additional injuries, the forward would miss more than two years of action. On August 1, 2020, Roberson played in his first NBA game in over two years, logging five minutes in a win over the Utah Jazz. After recovering from injury, he had a short stint with the Brooklyn Nets (5 NBA games, 1.2 points, 3.0 rebounds), and in the 2022/23 season, he played for the Oklahoma City Blue, the Thunder’s G-League affiliate.
In 2024, the forward relaunched his career overseas for the first time. He began the 2024/25 season with French club Cholet before attracting the attention of French basketball powerhouse and EuroLeague participant ASVEL. In 30 games for the Lyon-based team in the French championship, Roberson averaged 9.7 points, 7.1 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.0 block. In the EuroLeague, he played 25 games, averaging 8.4 points, 6.2 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.1 blocks.
