Andrey Vorontsevich stays with us!
Zenit and Andrey Vorontsevich have revised the terms of the current contract and extended it for another season. The updated agreement with the forward will be valid until the end of the 2026/27 season under the "1+1" system.
Andrey Vorontsevich moved to St. Petersburg in the summer of 2024 and was a key player for the team last season. Together with Zenit, the forward won silver medals in the VTB United League and the Russian Championship, bronze medals in the Supercup, and also claimed the Kondrashin and Belov Cup. Additionally, in the final part of the playoffs, he served as the team captain.
In the completed 2024/25 season, Vorontsevich played in all 60 games of the regular season and playoffs, starting in 49 of them. The Russian player averaged 5.1 points, 3.4 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 0.6 steals and 0.4 blocks in 19 minutes per game.
The Blue-White-Sky Blues congratulate Andrey on his contract extension and wish him new sports achievements with the St. Petersburg club!
Alexander Tserkovny, Zenit BC CEO:
Andrey is the definition of a pro. At 37, he suited up for every single game — 60 total across the regular season and playoffs — and didn’t miss a single practice. That level of commitment? Rare. He sets the standard in our locker room. We’re proud he’s staying with us!
