The official website of the blue-whites shares everything you need to know ahead of Game 5 in the final series.

The trip to Moscow was a tough one for Xavi Pascual’s team. On the one hand, a hard-fought victory in Game 3 of the finals allowed Zenit to regain home-court advantage, which could play a key role in the battle for the championship title. However, the last game ended in a heavy defeat, and several players sustained injuries of varying severity.

Throughout the playoffs, our team has consistently shown that, despite difficulties and setbacks, they are ready to fight for victory in every game. The upcoming match will be no exception.

Head-to-head

Tomorrow will mark the ninth head-to-head clash between the teams this season. The finals are currently tied, but including regular season games, the blue-whites lead the overall count 5-3.

In total, the teams have met 58 times in the VTB United League. CSKA has 35 wins, while Zenit has 23.

Quotes

Zenit head coach Xavi Pascual on Game 5 against CSKA:

We are happy that we will meet our amazing fans again. After two games in Moscow we return to our home arena. Earlier we were able to regain our home-court advantage, so now it all comes down to the fact that we need to win two more games. We need to make conclusions from the previous games and start the home game with full focus and confidence. For sure Game 5 can be a key one in this series. I really hope that the fans will support us. We can achieve our goal together.
