Andrey Vorontsevich: "We need to maintain the same attitude for the next game"
Zenit’s forward Andrey Vorontsevich shared his expectations for the second game of the quarterfinals in the VTB United League. The game against PARMA will take place tomorrow, April 24, at the CSC Arena. The tip-off is at 19:30, St. Petersburg time. Tickets are available on the official website.
— First of all, we understand that after performing well in the first game, we need to maintain the same attitude for the next one. We must not have any illusions that everything will go easily. The lead we created in the score was, of course, due to our hard work and commitment. And, of course, we hope to see more of our fans, as they are the sixth player, and their support gives us strength.
We also need to work hard on defense, not allowing easy points, because PARMA is a serious opponent, a strong team with a capable coaching staff. Yes, the first victory gave us confidence. I hope that throughout the series, we will continue to improve our team play.
So, we are focused, knowing that now is not the time to relax. With a positive mindset, and most importantly, with support for each other, even if some shots don’t fall or we make mistakes — the most important thing is to stay together as a team and move forward together.
