Dwayne Bacon: "Everybody play hard when they see Zenit in front of them"
Blue-whites forward Dwayne Bacon made a special comment for Zenit TV on the results of the away meeting with Lokomotiv Kuban (89:92). In the last match, the player scored 21 points, 3 rebounds, 2 steals, an assist and a block shot.
— Honestly, with me, they kinda took me out the first half, but my team was able make a push and come back. We were down by, I think, like 17 points. But, I mean, at the end of the day, that's what you got a team for. I'm always ready to fight, ready to play. Just if you don't hit shots in the first half, you always get a second half. You always get a halftime regroup. That's the, you know, the point of the game is to have two halves. And regrouped at halftime if you're not doing well and I came back out with the same mindset but just more aggressive and I was able to do things that I'm usually doing for my team and get the win.
— What thoughts went through your mind when it was «-17»?
— We're okay, it's a long game. I kept telling the guys it's a long game, it's a long game. Every team made lines especially against us. Those guys always play hard against us. So we knew what they were going to come out and do just like last time they had us down by you know 30 and we was able to come back not get the win but you know the same thing same mindset. We were down 17, came back. They were down 12 or 14. It was a great game and I'm glad we came out with the victory.
— If we talk about the top-4 games, only CSKA at home left. Do you have a goal to finish the regular season on first place?
— I mean, yeah, of course we want to finish the regular season first place, but we can't just look past everybody else to play CSKA. But we've got to take every game one at a time. Everybody play hard when they see Zenit in front of them. So the goal is just take it one day at a time. Right now, we've got probably a day off, get back in there to practice, out the door first. And then we just got to keep building.
— What scenarios were running through your mind when it was Uzinskiy two free shots and when he missed second, what were the possibilities?
— I mean, he is a great shooter, so I didn't think he was going to miss two, but I was saying he's going to miss one. So I'm happy he missed one, we were able to get the rebound, push it and Zhora hit an incredible shot.
— What did you tell to Zhora and what was in the locker room?
— Big shot, big shot! We take it, at the end of the day we won, so you got to give props to him, he works hard. He was confident in that shot. I'm just glad he was able to take it and win the game.
— What did Xavi told you?
— Every game is going to be a fight. But if we play the right way like we did from second quarter to the fourth quarter, we can win a lot of games.
