Zenit players reached to the Final of the Russian U18 Championship

The Semifinal stage of the Russian Junior Championship for players born in 2008 has concluded, with the teams St. Petersburg-1, St. Petersburg-2, and St. Petersburg-3 qualifying for the final round of the competition.


The matches in Group "P-3", where the first St. Petersburg team competed, were held from January 12 to 17 in Nizhny Tagil at the "Stary Sobol" sports school. The team secured 4 victories out of 5 matches, losing only the final game to the group leader, Moscow-2. The St. Petersburg-1 roster includes players from Zenit U19 (Semyon Ananyin, Kirill Belov, Alexander Zamanskiy, Daniil Kharlamov, Denis Silayev, Leonid Firsov, Mikhail Iskakov) and Zenit-2008 (Bogdan Rak, Yuri Koshechka, Ivan Teodorovich).


St. Petersburg-2 competed in Group "P-2". The matches for this group were held from January 14 to 19 in Krasnodar at the Lokomotiv Kuban sports complex. The second St. Petersburg team also won 4 matches, losing only to the host team from Krasnodar Krai. The St. Petersburg-2 roster also features players from the Basketball Academy — Zenit 2008 players Ivan Yarkin, Alexander Kalinin and Kirill Tolompoiko.


The third St. Petersburg team played in Group "P-1" from January 13 to 17 in Pokrovskoye. Over 4 games, St. Petersburg-3 achieved 2 victories. The team advanced to the Finals from 3rd place, with a cumulative point difference of "+6", which was higher than their competitors. The St. Petersburg-3 roster includes additional Zenit 2008 players: Ivan Dmitriev, Daniil Nikolaev, Andrey Garifullin, Daniil Krupnov and Vladislav Pelenitsin.
