January 22, 2025

Zenit Basketball Club has signed a contract with Okaro White (203 cm, 93 kg). The agreement with the 32-year-old power forward is valid until the end of the 2024/25 season.

Okaro White was born in Brooklyn, New York, on August 13, 1992. As a preteen, his family moved to Clearwater, Florida. Okaro has since started playing basketball and even was named Pinellas County's Basketball Player of the Year as a senior at Clearwater High School.

To continue his sports career, White chose the Florida State, where he later played in the NCAA. In his senior year, the forward averaged 12.9 points and 6.6 rebounds. In 2014, White went undrafted in the NBA draft, after which he played for teams such as the Italian club Virtus Bologna and the Greek team Aris Thessaloniki, where he was named the league’s Most Spectacular Player during the 2015/16 season.

In June 2016, Okaro joined the Miami Heat for the NBA Summer League, signed a contract, but was waived after six preseason games. In November, he was picked up by the Sioux Falls Skyforce in the NBA Development League. On January 17, 2017, White signed a 10-day contract with the Miami Heat to help them deal with numerous injuries, and on February 6, he signed a contract for the rest of the season. The forward played 40 NBA games for the Heat and 3 more games for the Washington Wizards.

Later, White played for American teams such as Capital City Go-Go, Long Island Nets, and Windy City Bulls in the G League. During the 2021/22 season, he played for the Greek team Panathinaikos, participating in the EuroLeague regular season. In the continent's most prestigious tournament, White played 29 games, averaging 8.4 points and 3.7 assists. Together with the club from Athens, the player won the Greek Super Cup, and became a Cup and League finalist.
