Blue-whites guard Alexander Shcherbenev shared his emotions following the away victory over Samara (54:103). The player noted the character and resistance shown by the opponent in the match and spoke about the mindset for the upcoming game against Lokomotiv Kuban.

— This is an important win for us because we started the year with a loss in Kazan, which wasn’t how we wanted it to go. That’s why we approached this game as seriously as possible. We understood that, of course, the team’s roster had changed significantly, but they continue to fight in every match and show character. All the young Russian guys want to prove that they can compete in this league and play well. So, facing such an opponent is never easy, and we took this match very seriously, analyzed their team, and overall executed our game plan. The result was a very confident victory.

I’m sure this win will help us moving forward because we have a very important and tough home game coming up next against Lokomotiv. We’re happy with the victory, but our focus is already on the next game. I also want to wish Samara good luck and good health.
