"A Day in history": Sergey Karasev's record performance

On January 8, 2017, forward of the blue-whites team Sergey Karasev played his most productive game of his career, scoring 35 points.

That evening, the Moscow region's Khimki visited Sports Complex Yubileyniy. The game turned out to be very high-scoring and full of exciting moments, ending with a 114:110 victory for Zenit.

In addition to his 35 points, Karasev also recorded 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals. The forward made exactly 7 out of 10 three-pointers, which ranks as the third-best result in the club's history for three-point shooting.

For Sergey, the 2016/17 season was his first in Russia after returning from USA. That same January, he was named MVP of the month, and at the end of the tournament, he earned bronze medals in the VTB United League and the Russian Championship, also being included in the symbolic regular season five.

As of the time of writing this text, Karasev has played 292 games in a Zenit jersey — an all-time club record. Since the beginning of the current season, Sergey has been the team captain and continues to proudly represent the blue-whites colors.
