Maxim Uchaykin

Maxim Uchaykin began his basketball journey as a player, but by the age of 24, he realized that he wanted to pursue coaching. He started with Spartak-Primorye-DUBL, but quickly progressed to the coaching staff of the main team, and soon became the head coach of Sakhalin.

Maxim has extensive experience in the Superleague in various roles – from strength and conditioning coach and player-coach to head coach. He has won the tournament twice as an assistant coach.

Maxim Uchaykin joined Zenit's system in 2020 when he took charge of Zenit U21. With this team, the coach won the gold medals of the VTB Youth United League, earned the title of the tournament's best coach. In the summer of 2022, Uchaykin joined the staff of Xavi Pascual in the main team, and from 2025 he joined the staff of Aleksander Sekulic.
